8 Women's Health & Wellness Podcasts for Empathy & Insight

“What should I listen to next?” is a question we’ve all probably asked ourselves many times. Yes, sitting in silence is a beautiful (and important) thing and a good soundtrack is hard to beat - but there are times when a podcast is exactly the entertaining company we need. But even more than keeping us occupied on treadmills, errands, walks around the block, and beyond, some of our favorite podcasts also provide safe spaces to learn about all things related to wellness and women’s health.

The below podcasts host important conversations about everything from setting boundaries to scheduling breast check-ups. Each one is unique with its own voice and expertise, but we love them for their combination of empathy and insight.

Whether you’re looking for health tips, personal stories, or a feel-good community, we hope these podcasts add value - and maybe even a few laughs - to your day-to-day.

8 WOMEN’S HEALTH & WELLNESS PODCASTS FOR HEALTH TIPS WHEN YOU’RE OUT & ABOUT

Hosted by Les, the Balanced Black Girl podcast is all about self-care, wellness, and health from the perspectives of Black women. With episodes about stress management, tuning into your mental health,  menstrual cycles, and Black maternal health, this podcast covers a variety of health-oriented topics - all told with empathy and approachability.

We also highly recommend downloading her journal prompts, self-care guide, and other wonderful (and free!) resources on the Balanced Black Girl website.

Meet Dr. Jenn and Dr. Erica. On their website, they’re described as “badass gynecologists” who are on a mission to “tackle relevant women’s health and reproductive policy issues.” One episode covers what hymens do (spoiler alert: not a lot!) and another discusses how climate change disproportionately affects women’s health. The episodes balance medical expertise with a little comedy - so you’ll walk away informed and entertained.

Hannah started hosting The V Hive after suffering from pelvic pain, gut issues, and hormonal imbalances. Since she sought a judgment-free space to talk about all things related to women’s intimate health - she started her own podcast! There are more than a hundred episodes with conversations about acne, mental health, breast cancer, egg freezing, anxiety, and so much more.

Cancer Actually F***ing Sucks shares stories of cancer survivors through in-depth and insightful interviews. While the podcast isn’t exclusively about women’s health, you’ll see many of the shows feature women cancer survivors and wellness coaches. In fact, the hosts, Madison Pollack and Paige Gill are not only cancer survivors who were diagnosed in their twenties, but they’re also experts in integrative and holistic health. So you’ll hear plenty of nuggets of wisdom about fitness and nutrition as you listen along.
