We Love boobies! And Brewbies! A Huge Thanks to 7 Years & Over 220K Raised For Breast Cancer Prevention Education

Melanie Pierce signed up for the DIY Action Initiative a little over seven years ago with the goal to get her community involved in raising awareness and funds for breast cancer prevention. Seven years later it is one of the most successful DIY events in the history of Keep A Breast with over $220,000 raised! Grassroots activist is at the core of our mission and brings awareness to all different types of people and communities. Brewbies combines breweries from all over the country with breast cancer prevention education, provided by our Traveling Education Booth, to continue to raise awareness to the rapidly growing craft beer movement. In February, Brewbies raised over $44k for our educational programs and we couldn’t be more grateful for this continuing support from the craft beer community.

Check out this rad video that gives a little glimpse of just how special Melanie and her event really is.

Melanie and all the KABtivists are proof that every single person can make a difference in a big way. And she’s taking it a step further this year by adding another location. Drum roll please…..

Brewbies in the Bay!

That’s right, it’s time for some Craft Beer Lovin’ - Do-Gooders in NorCal to come out and show their love for boobies! April 23 is the first annual Brewbies in the Bay and will be held at Faction Brewing in Alameda from 12-5pm.

Tickets are on sale now and 100% of the proceeds benefit our Traveling Education Booth and our adventures in spreading breast health education to young people nationwide. We couldn’t do what we do without amazing people, like Melanie, turning their passion into a philanthropic inspiration.

*AND REMEMBER - although this event might be at a bar - your tickets are for samples. More than one (1) drink each day (if you are 21, of course) increases your odds of developing breast cancer.  Alcohol can increase the levels of some hormones, such as estrogen and unusually high levels of estrogen increase the risk of breast cancer. We know it's not fair, but think of the consequences if you drink too much. Be responsible and drink in moderation if you do.
