July 2005 - Cast of the Month

Tina Birbaum is originally from Switzerland and currently lives in Chamonix, France. She started snowboarding in 1988, and recalls that there weren't that many girls on snowboards at the time! True to Tina's nature, this challenge spurred her desire to be the best. She is one of Switzerland's most successful all round freestyle riders and has won many big air events including the Air and Style.

We met Tina last year at the Roxy Jam in France where she participated in Keep A Breast for the fist time. We were also lucky enough to spend some time with her this year at the Roxy Jam UK. Will Barras, Johno Verity and Annette Base Baker, the denim designer at Quiksilver Europe, have all had the privilege to paint Tina's casts. Thanks to Tina, we have raised over $3,000 for grass roots breast cancer organizations. This month Tina is our "cast of the month" Her cast was painted by Matt Watkins and can be seen traveling across the country on the Vans Warped Tour in the Girlz Garage.
